United Arab Emirates, Dubai: The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has announced during a press conference earlier today the dates and the theme of the eighth FAHR International Conference that will be held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. FAHR International Conference will take place on the 16th & 17th of April, 2018 at Jumeirah Emirates Towers. The event that is considered the Middle East’s largest government HR event, will be held this year under the theme “Tomorrow’s HR Starts Today”.

H.E. Dr. Abdulrahman Abdul Mannan Al Awar, Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), confirmed that the conference will attract 500 experts, specialists and stakeholders specialized in human resources from the UAE, the region and the world, representing all sectors.
Besides, during a press conference held today (Tuesday) at FAHR’s headquarters in Dubai to announce the details and agenda of the 8th FAHR International Conference, H.E. Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar noted that the UAE foresees the future through the adoption of the best global regulations, legislations, expertise and practices in various fields. The enhancement of its prestigious position regionally and globally depends on keeping pace with the rapid global changes in various sectors and the extent of its interest in human capital and its development.
Furthermore, H.E. noted that the wise leadership of the UAE believes in the importance of the human element, pays great attention to it and bets on it in making great achievements, represented by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and members of the Federal Supreme Council of the Rulers of the Emirates.
He also said, “The great achievements and the advanced levels the country has reached would not have been possible without the grace and favor of God, followed by the efforts and directives of our wise leadership which has given the human element the utmost importance, invested in it, and harnessed all the energies, potentials and capabilities for it in the direction of upbringing and education, training and development, follow-up and motivation, all the way down to what it is today, and the advanced levels and leadership the UAE has achieved in various fields.
H.E. Dr. Abdulrahman Abdul Mannan Al Awar added, “The UAE has established an integrated educational, training and development system, enacted policies and legislations, and launched initiatives that have had the greatest impact on the preparation, qualification and empowerment of promising and innovative Emirati talents with a high level of professionalism, knowledge, know-how and responsibility.
Then H.E. extended his thanks and appreciation to H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, for his kind patronage of FAHR International Conference, which reflects His Highness's interest in the activities and events that support the development of human capital, pointing out that the conference is an ideal platform to exchange the best local, regional and global experiences and practices in the management and development of human capital, in addition to highlighting the most prominent related issues, identifying the most important challenges facing it, and developing appropriate solutions to overcome these challenges, as well as shedding light on the role of human resources in shaping the future of governments.
On the other hand, H.E. said that the number of speakers at the conference, which is organized by FAHR in cooperation with INDEX Conferences & Exhibitions – a member of INDEX Holding, has exceeded 25 HR speakers and professionals, representing a selection of specialists and HR pioneers worldwide. Also, the conference will be attended by more than 500 experts and specialists in human resources, a number of ministers and officials of the civil service and human resources in the GCC countries, and senior human resources officials in the public and private sectors from around the world.

On his part, Mr. Ahmed Al Muhairi, Director of Projects and Programmes at the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, said that the conference is an ideal channel of intellectual and knowledge communication, aimed at presenting best global practices in the area of human capital development and aligning them with the UAE national agenda and Federal Government initiatives. Moreover, it is an interactive knowledge platform between experts of human resources to exchange ideas, knowledge and successful experiences.
Mr. Al Muhairi continued, “In its 8th edition, the conference will witness the participation of selected global human resources institutions, as well as keynote speakers from international institutions and companies with pioneering experience in the management and development of their human capital. The conference will also revolve around the future of human resources and will discuss many topics and issues that are closely linked to the development and empowerment of human capital, including: the most featured talents and skills required for the labor market, the impact of technology on changing the role of human resources, attractive and incubating work environments of future talents, smart HR applications and global best practices in human resources.
