Saudi Arabian retailer BinDawood Holding said Thursday that Arab Dalla Co. has filed a lawsuit against one of its subsidiaries, Danube Company for Foodstuffs & Commodities, for patent infringement, seeking a compensation of SAR 124.13 million ($33 million) and legal fees of 300,000 riyals.

In a statement on Tadawul, BinDawood, which controls supermarket chains under its own brand and Danube in the kingdom, said the lawsuit was filed in the commercial court in Jeddah.

The company said any financial impact and legal consequences would be announced in due course.

BinDawood shares closed slightly lower at 113.80 riyals on Wednesday.
