Tehran - An Iranian parliamentary delegation currenlty visiting Ecuador held meetings on Saturday with vice-speaker of Ecuadorˈs parliament and other senior lawmakers of the country.

Iranˈs parliamentary delegation is led by co-chairman of Iran-Ecuador Parliamentary Friendship Group Hamid-Reza Fouladgar.

In a meeting with his Ecuadorian counterpart, Fouladgar called for sharing experiences between Iran and Ecuador on energy and mining sectors.

Referring to resistance of the two nations against global arrogance, Fouladgar said the similar stands taken by both countries on international issues is a good base for expansion of relations between Iran and Ecuador in international organizations.

In a separate meeting with vice-speaker of Ecuadorian Parliament, Fouladgar called for utilization of existing capacities to help boost relations between the two OPEC member states. He urged both Iran and Ecuador to immediately implement already signed agreements.

In the Meantime, the Ecuadorian official expressed satisfaction with the level of diplomatic relations between the two countries and said world powers have always been seeking to disrupt Iran-Ecuador friendly ties, but they cannot reach their goal.

The Iranian delegation also met and conferred with head of Foreign Policy Commission of Ecuadorian Parliament in a separate meeting on the same day.

During the meeting, the Ecuadorian lawmaker touched upon the situation in Syria and said Syrian crisis has to be solved by the Syrian people themselves.

The legislator said foreign intervention in Syria and shipment of arms for terrorist groups in the country would further exacerbate the situation in Syria and the whole Middle East Region.
