Dubai: Hotbrands International (HBI), a Dubai-based food services company, plans to expand its restaurant brands both regionally and internationally, according to a company statement on Sunday.
The company expects to open more outlets in the US, India and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
In the UAE, it plans to open six quick-service restaurants and another casual dining restaurant this year.
Meanwhile in the US, HBI plans to bring Wok Chi, its first Chinese fast-casual restaurant, to New York and Florida.
“HBI is currently in a high growth phase and aims to move into new locations worldwide through joint venture partnerships,” said Avinash Bal, the company’s Vice-Chairman and CEO, in a statement.
The HBI’s chain in the GCC includes five restaurants in Oman, three restaurants in Bahrain and one in Qatar.
Established in 1992, the company currently has more than 50 outlets in the GCC, India and the US. Its quick-service restaurant brands include Shamiana, Magic Wok, Santino’s, Sala Thai and Sugoi!. Meanwhile, its casual dining restaurant brands include Haru and Pane Caldo.
