Majesty 135 to lead the line-up of luxury superyachts, sport cruisers and leisure craft to be displayed at The Wave Muscat from May 1st to 3rd
Muscat, April 28th 2014 - Gulf Craft, recently named one of the world's top 10 superyacht builders and market leader in the Sultanate of Oman, will be showcasing a line-up of luxury superyachts, sport cruisers and leisure craft at the first-ever leisure marine show to take place in Oman.
The Gulf Craft fleet will dock at Almouj Marina at The Wave, Muscat from May 1st - 3rd and will be led by the largest superyacht to be built by the shipyard to date - the Majesty 135 (Winner of the "Best Asia Built Yacht' at the 2013 Asia Boating Awards). It will be joined by other luxury superyacht models, including the Majesty 105 (shortlisted for Boat International's 2014 World Superyacht Awards) in addition to 2014 models of the Oryx sport cruisers and Silvercraft leisure boat range.
Gulf Craft's inaugural show in the Sultanate comes as Oman continues to make the headlines for increasing investment in its tourism infrastructure, in which its marina industry shines as a prominent contributor. With 10% growth in tourism in 2013 to 2.1 million global visitors, including significant influxes from Saudi Arabia and the UK, the Ministry of Tourism has been marketing with a focus on luxury tourism. In line with the upsurge in appeal to this market sector, Oman is welcoming a host of waterfront leisure and lifestyle facilities including Almouj Marina at The Wave, Muscat, as well as Muriya's developments at Jebel Sifah and Salalah Beach, each providing an impressive array of berths. From newly-announced tourism roadshows targeting harbour towns with strong marine affiliation (Southampton, UK, 28th April 2014) to Almouj Marina winning a regional-first international achievement award (International Clean Marina Accreditation, awarded 3rd March 2014), the flourishing of Oman's marine leisure scene suggests the time is right to host its first-ever show of this kind.
"We are very excited to be hosting this exclusive preview for our clients and the public in Oman. We have a strong heritage in the market and in the region as a whole, having operated in the GCC for 33 years. We believe Oman already has a strong appetite for leisure marine pursuits considering its natural coastal assets and active marina players such as The Wave, Muscat who are doing their share to develop a waterfront community in the Sultanate. We see this event as a great way to showcase our wide range of crafts which covers everything from smaller family leisure boats to luxury superyachts, and we hope to bring more people to the water here in Oman," said Mohammed Alshaali, Chairman of Gulf Craft.
Visitors to the Gulf Craft Exclusive Preview event will be able to tour the yachts and boats on display at Almouj Marina at The Wave, Muscat from 4 pm to 10 pm from May 1st to 3rd.
