MANAMA: A key meeting was held yesterday to discuss the stability of cement prices and meet the needs of the local market.

Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed Alzayani chaired the meeting which was attended by United Cement Company, UltraTech Cement Bahrain Company, Falcon Cement Company, and the Kingdom Cement Company.

Assistant under-secretary for domestic and external commerce Shaikh Hamad bin Salman Al Khalifa also attended the key meeting.

Mr Alzayani stressed the importance of supplying the local market and meeting the needs of the construction and real estate sector.

He underlined the need to provide these vital products to ensure the smoothness and stability of the sector.

He reiterated support to national cement production and expanding the output, in co-operation between the ministry and owners of factories to overcome any challenges which may impact the market.
