TORONTO- Bank of Nova Scotia wants expand its wealth management business in the United States, and is seeking to make an acquisition there to do so, its chief executive said on Thursday.

Canada's third-biggest bank is looking to either buy a wealth management team or existing business in the U.S., Brian Porter said at the Scotiabank Financials Summit.

"The U.S. dollar management capability is important to us, it's important to our customer," he said.
