Assistant Director General of Dubai Land Department wins prestigious accolade at CEO Middle East Awards

Dubai, UAE: Majida Ali Rashid, Assistant Director General of Dubai Land Department (DLD) and Head of the Investment Management and Promotion Centre, the department's investment arm, has been selected as Female CEO of the Year at this year's CEO Middle East Awards.

The award was bestowed in recognition of Majida's significant role in developing the functions and operations of the Investment Management and Promotion Centre. During her tenure as its Head, the department has proved its status as one of the main arms of DLD by successfully implementing strategic initiatives and by supporting the Dubai government's vision for the emirate to become one of the leading investment destinations in the world.

"I would like to extend my deep thanks to His Excellency the Director-General of DLD and to all my colleagues for supporting me in my duties. Were it not for their help and encouragement, I would not have been able to collect this award," said Majida Ali Rashid, commenting on her win. "I would like to accept the award on behalf of everyone at DLD, as I believe that it recognises our achievements as a team. I would also like to use this occasion to assure everyone that we will continue to venture forward with the same determination to be the best in all our operations," she added.

"We are delighted to extend our congratulations to Mrs. Majida on receiving this prestigious award. It is an honour that is a worthy reflection of her dedication to the Investment Management and Promotion Centre and to DLD in general, which she works tirelessly for in her role as Assistant Director General," said HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of Dubai Land Department "This award is a tribute to all our staff and acknowledges the successes and achievements of the DLD team so far. We are looking forward to redoubling our efforts to maintain our leadership of Dubai's dynamic property sector," he added.

Majida impressed the CEO Middle East Awards judges with her commitment to exploring opportunities for the Investment Management and Promotion Centre and for launching schemes that have contributed to attracting global investment to Dubai's real estate sector. Her efforts in ensuring transparency and her market monitoring and follow-up policies have helped create an investment environment that is safe for all parties.

Majida received her Female CEO of the Year award from Karam Awwad, Managing Director of ITP Group, at a grand ceremony held by ITP, the organiser of the CEO Middle East Awards. The event, which is in its eighth season, was held on the evening of September 10 at Jumeirah Emirates Towers and was attended by a large number of senior officials and executives from government bodies and private sector organisations.

The Middle East CEO Awards focuses on a number of categories that honour excellence, innovation and outstanding achievements from leaders across industry sectors. Majda's honour comes soon after she received the Emirates Women Award 2014, which she collected in May. The accolade was bestowed under the scheme's 'Strategic & Financial Planning' category for her work with DLD.
