The Special Economic Zone at Duqm (Sezad) has announced a significant milestone by celebrating the opening of Duqm Hongtong Piping Factory on October 25, the first factory in the Sino-Omani Industrial City in Duqm.

Being the first-of-its-kind project in the Sultanate, the project is developed as an Omani-Chinese partnership, reflecting the strong relations between the two countries.

Duqm Hongtong Piping Factory produces the non-metallic Reinforced Thermopolyethlene Pipes (RTP), which are used for oil and gas industry and specifically for the collection and transfer of hydrocarbon fluids through the piping networks.

This type of pipes will be one of the modern technologies used for oil and gas operations in the Sultanate, as well as being a new addition to the sector due to its high quality and durability compared to the metal pipes that are commonly used in the oil and gas sector.

Further, these pipes are manufactured as per the technical specifications accredited by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and the American Institute of Petroleum.

The factorys products will witness a good demand as they mark a cost effective solution for the operations of many companies, which will save the budget of the companies that use these pipes. TradeArabia News Service
