Bahrain has awarded a major contract to Abdullah Al Muhanna Contracting Company and Partners to develop the 234-unit Wadi Al Sail Housing Project being financed by the GCC Development Programme.

The project is likely to be completed by mid-2022, reported BNA.

The contracts were signed in the presence of Housing Ministry's Undersecretary Shaikh Khalid bin Hmoud Al Khalifa and Salman Al-Jasser, the representative of the Saleh Abdullah Al Muhanna Contracting Company and Partners, and other senior officials, it stated.

Shaikh Khalid said the Wadi Al Sail project is a significant new step forward towards the implementation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s order to build 40,000 housing units.

It reflects the keenness of the government, led by HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and supported by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to provide decent housing for the citizens, in accordance with the highest levels of quality, he added.
