Dubai – United Arab Emirates: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the 8th edition of FAHR International Conference begins this Monday, 16 April 2018, at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai. The FAHR International Conference & Exhibition is the Middle East’s largest government HR event held by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) in cooperation with INDEX Conferences & Exhibitions, with the participation of 500 experts from the HR field.

H.E. Laila Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of HR Planning and Projects Sector at the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, explained that this conference is one of the most specialized conferences regionally dedicated to HR bringing together local, regional, and international speakers and specialists in the field. She also emphasized that it is a leading platform to exchange best experiences and practices in the field of human capital management and development, highlighting the most salient issues and identifying challenges and coming up with solutions.

She further noted that what characterizes FAHR International Conference 2018 — held under the theme of “Tomorrow’s HR Starts Today” — is that it truly shapes the future of human resources.

H.E. Al Suwaidi mentioned that conference hosts 500 experts and professionals, more than 20 speakers and about 10 companies in the field of HR from the region and the world. The conference agenda this year will feature various topics and specialized workshops given by a constellation of global experts, reviewing best practices in human capital development and presenting their future visions to develop the HR profession.

Awards Ceremony for the Best Scientific Research in the Field of Human Resources

The FAHR International Conference 2018 will be interspersed with an awarding ceremony for the winners of the first edition of FAHR with “FAHR Research Award” for the best scientific research in the HR field, launched by the FAHR late last year, targeting students and faculty members from the UAE University, Zayed University and Higher Colleges of Technology. The award encourages scientific research and the development of a culture of innovation in HR in order to enable national competence and develop human capital.

The award, with a total prize of AED 120,000, also aims to motivate young people to continue their research initiatives, study the realities and challenges of work and the future of human resources, as well as reverse the vital role of HR in excellence, productivity, and promotion of community action at the federal government level. The award will engage university instructors and students in order to upgrade the level of human resources and link it to professional and practical reality.

From his side, Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Chairman of INDEX Holding, said “These conferences play a key role in exchanging skills, enriching knowledge and keeping up with the latest advances in HR and show the importance of human capital and developing it. We are keen to host this conference and support any similar specialized gatherings that encourage development and prosperity especially in human resources.”

The agenda of the conference will cover topics, including transformational HR, business world variables, using futures in human capital strategy development, understanding psychometric testing and new assessment methods, global workplace innovations and other leadership development topics. The conference will also discuss the elements of creating a great workplace, what is beyond digital transformation, and the benefits accruing to companies and managers from employee engagement at the workplace and the sharing economy built around the sharing of human and physical resources. These topics will highlight the importance of human capital development based on modern concepts and international standards applied in this field to realize outstanding institutional performance, create a happy and motivating work environment for human capital, foster a culture of innovation in the institutional work environment, and achieve job harmony.

On the other hand, the parallel exhibition will highlight the latest solutions and services provided by leading and innovative HR companies and institutions. It is an ideal platform for upgrading and networking with top HR professionals.

The 8th FAHR International Conference is organized by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources in cooperation with INDEX Conferences & Exhibitions – a member of INDEX Holding.
