New Cairo Developers Association, a representative body of real estate companies in Egypt, has applied to the New Urban Communities Authority for allotting a plot of land near Al Rehab City in Cairo to build a mixed-use project.

Mohamed Al Bostany, President of the New Cairo Developers Association, said the project, spread over 30 acres, will include residential and commercial units.

"We are awaiting allotment of the land to start the project," he told Zawya Projects.

New Cairo Developers Association, which has 80 real estate companies as members, is studying to form an alliance of its members to build projects across Egypt.

He said the association is also studying the government's participation in social housing for low-income families.
