Residents can visit the website to gain knowledge about training and awareness workshops and competitions that recognize innovators. The new webpage will feature the most important initiatives and events that focus on creativity and innovation.

A virtual exhibition will showcase some of the Department's most important projects and innovative systems, and those of the municipalities of Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain City and Al Dhafra Region, and the Integrated Transport Centre. Additionally, it highlights some of the unique ideas and initiatives of the Abu Dhabi Police and Tatweer Middle East & Africa developed for Abu Dhabi's residents.

His Excellency Falah Mohammed Al Ahbabi, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport commented on how the UAE embraces innovation in all facets of life and that its culture of innovation is one of the essential pillars in enhancing the state's capabilities.

He said: "Our commitment to achieving the UAE Centennial Vision 2071, which entails our investment in developing minds and resources to improve our operations, adopt innovative practices, and employ smart and sustainable technologies, has contributed to and shall continue to empower us to confront challenges and transform them into opportunities to build a prosperous future for all who live in the UAE and chart a bright roadmap for future generations.

"Over the past few years, our participation in the Innovation Month has seen us employ innovative solutions that advance sustainable growth in the future. This year, we will continue to provide a platform to discuss solutions and think of new ways to enhance and encourage creativity that contributes to the development of the emirate's infrastructure, raising the quality of life and the well-being of its residents."

During the month of innovation, the Department also hosts the 'Abu Dhabi Innovator' competition, which invites employees of DMT and its affiliated entities to share creative ideas or unique scientific research that can positively impact Abu Dhabi. A panel of experts will evaluate the ideas and their implementation feasibility to select the winners. DMT also registers these ideas in the names of participants as part of a program that stimulates entrepreneurship and the investment of new ideas based on the participants' experiences, abilities, and understanding of operations.

The Department of Municipalities and Transport has further developed the Creativity and Innovation Management System, Ebdaa, to incorporate participation and suggestions from all cities and regions and all segments of society of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Ebdaa was established to consolidate the value of innovation, design future cities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi that match the aspirations of Abu Dhabi residents and visitors, improve institutional performance, and improve the quality of services. It will serve as a platform for creative ideas and provide a communication mechanism for all inspirers, stakeholders, and those interested in developing all areas and sectors that improve the emirate's quality of life to be a part of shaping the future, evaluating and studying their ideas according to the highest standards, and following up on their implementation.

Ebdaa, is a means to provide a communications channel for the public to share suggestions with any part of society, including government, private sector, clients, suppliers, partners, residents, and corporate executives. In addition, the platform provides a mechanism for evaluating suggestions received by specialization, studying them, and following up on their implementation to strengthen the concept of innovation in Abu Dhabi. It recognizes those ideas as an example of how to achieve sustainable growth through exchanging ideas and the contribution of everyone to the development process that enhances Abu Dhabi's position as a global centre for innovation creators.

During February's Innovation Month, DMT and its affiliates will host a series of interactive and awareness-raising lectures and workshops to create an innovative culture. The sessions are aimed at enhancing participants' creative capabilities by providing them with more knowledge and essential tools and encouraging them to actively participate throughout the year with their innovative ideas and suggestions to achieve consistency and integration between the Department, government agencies, and community members, achieve desired sustainable development, and improve the standards of quality of life in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
