H.E. Dr. Salem Al Darmaki, Adviser to the Minister of the MOHAP met  Holger Mahnicke, Consul General of Germany in Dubai, and met Katrin Schütz, German State Secretary for the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Housing, on the sidelines of the 45th Arab Health taking place at Dubai World Trade Centre from January 27 to 30.

Al Darmaki and the German officials discussed ways of advancing joint cooperation in various areas related to innovation, smart services and modern technologies in the health and pharmaceutical sectors.

The meeting was attended, HE Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Policy and Licensing Sector in the Ministry, HE Awad Al-Ketbi, Assistant Undersecretary of MoHAP's Support Services Sector.

Both sides discussed sharing expertise and attracting doctors of various specialties to the UAE, especially those who have successfully treated hopeless cases to benefit from their expertise.

The meeting also touched on the importance of training and continuing medical education, being an effective tool to improve the skills of national medical cadres through the ministry’s Training and Development Centre in Sharjah.

Al Darmaki briefed the German officials on the latest achievements, technological innovations, initiatives and projects launched by the ministry, saying that the UAE is willing to glean from all leading experiences as part of its efforts to establish its position as a global hub for making the future and producing knowledge.

“The Ministry of Health is striving to make innovation the basis of all therapeutic and preventive services. It is not only making the most of the latest medical technologies, but also is doing its best to attract medical companies and support research, clinical and laboratory studies as well as the development of robotic services and artificial intelligence,” Al Darmaki further said.
