Dubai: Dubai Economy honoured Al-Futtaim Automotive for being certified as a ‘Consumer-Friendly Company’ after the region’s first-of-its-kind evaluation of Consumer-Friendly Standards. The evaluation, launched in 2019 by the Commercial Compliance & Consumer Protection (CCCP) sector in Dubai Economy, is aimed to continuously enhance consumer protection in the private sector and improve customer experience across retailing and services in Dubai.

Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, CEO of CCCP, recently received a delegation from Al-Futtaim Automotive and congratulated the company for its exceptional commitment to providing an improved customer experience and service quality, particularly in the automobiles sector, which is vital to economic development in Dubai and the emirate’s position as a hub as well as home to a diverse international community.

“Quality of services and consumer experience are at the core of Dubai’s unique reputation as a destination of choice for people and businesses worldwide. The Consumer-Friendly Standards were introduced as an integrated system and benchmark for businesses to measure the consumer experience they provide, and align it with the best globally,” commented Ahmad Al Zaabi, Director of Consumer Protection in Dubai Economy.

“The business community in Dubai deserves praise for responding overwhelmingly to our initiative and we are delighted to see the spirit of competition and commitment that premier brands like Al- Futtaim Automotive have demonstrated. Being periodically evaluated for consumer-friendly standards will enable businesses to develop strategic plans to upgrade the consumer experience they provide, thus also strengthening corporate sustainability and competitiveness.” Al Zaabi added.

Despina Kokkaraki, Customer Centricity Director at Al-Futtaim Automotive commented, “At Al-Futtaim, we deploy an inherent customer-centric approach and persistent pursuit of perfection to be able to deliver on our commitment to enrich the lives of our customers each and every day. Our focus with Al-Futtaim Automotive is to provide mobility solutions and services that our customers want and deserve. Our philosophy of always putting customers first guides us as we strive to deliver the highest standards of excellence and create long-lasting relationships by offering memorable, value-added experiences for motorists, fleet owners and contractors alike. We are thrilled to be recognized by Dubai Economy as testament to our ongoing dedication to this.”

Dubai Economy evaluates Consumer-Friendly Standards against four main criteria under two themes – Sustainability, and Competitiveness. The Sustainability theme has Strategy and Communication as criteria under it while Competitiveness has Customer Care and Development. The standards were developed after a comprehensive market study of consumer behaviour data from the past five years.

The Automotive sector had an average score of 79.66% for Sustainability and 83.02% for Competitiveness in the Consumer-Friendly Standards industry data.

Consumer-Friendly Standards certification is now a service open for any company to submit and be evaluated at any time during the year for free and for any sector. Companies wishing to participate can visit www.consumerrights.ae or contact CFS@dubaided.gov.ae to inquire or request the Consumer-Friendly Standards Manual and the submission document.
