Doha  :  A total of 49 of the very best and brightest College of the North Atlantic – Qatar’s students were celebrated for their 2020-2021 academic achievements, during an official ceremony at the College. The event was attended by Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Naimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education; Dr.  Mohammed Al-Mulla Vice Chairman in CNA-Q’s Board of Trustees; Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, President of College of the North Atlantic – Qatar; the College board members and many VIP stakeholders.

Students are recognized based on 6 categories: Overall Highest Achiever Scholarship, Highest Achiever Merit Award, Distinction Award, Industrial Trades Dean Award, EFL (English as a Foundation Language) Award and Achievement Award.

The Highest Achiever Award was presented to Sarah Zaher Saleh, a student in the Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiography program; Zainab Ali, a student in the Advanced Diploma in Information Technology - Application Development program and Raniah Farooq, a student in Diploma in Pharmacy Technology program.

Merit Awards have also been presented to the Highest Achievers from each of the College’s Schools: Business Management and Information Technology - Addalin Lariena Rose Devasahaya Rajan, Almas Sami Ahmed Ayubi, Patrick Gerald Tangi Tamayosa, Roxanne Vanessa Dias. Health Sciences - Asia Naz, Nihala Moosa Panangat. Engineering Technology and Industrial Trades - Mariyam Saleem, Tareq Talal (M.T) Al-Shami.

Commenting on the event Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Naimi congratulated the students on their achievements and said: “This outstanding outcome reflects the high level of education at the College. Recognition is an important part of education; It encourages healthy competition among students and celebrates the efforts put in by top performers to reach the highest ranks.”

He added: “The Ministry of Education and Higher Education is happy to support such initiatives with the aim of raising the education level and fulfilling the vision of the strategic plan of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education 2018-2022, that mandates the necessity to create new and innovative education opportunities with high standards for the Qatari community.”

College of the North Atlantic – Qatar President, Dr. Salem Al-Naemi said: “We are pleased to celebrate our students’ academic success. What they have achieved so far, is the result of their perseverance and dedication. We are confident that studious people like them, who seek knowledge first, will excel in any field they choose to be in. CNA-Q aims to equip all its students with the right education, knowledge and skills to embark on their professional journey with confidence. Today we mark the 19th anniversary of “The Academic Awards”, an important College tradition, and a much-awaited event by CNA-Q students and faculty. I am confident these award-winning students will have a successful future ahead of them and will lead Qatar towards achieving its National Vision 2030.”

Highest Achievers are awarded with scholarships, and all winners receive a College certificate and the Distinction is noted on their official transcript.

At CNA-Q, students are placed at the center of the learning process. The College aims to give them as many real-life learning experiences as possible, so they can extend what they acquired in the classroom to their workplace and actively contribute to the economy. Curriculums have been designed based on the International and National Academic Qualifications Framework. All programs are delivered using hands-on applied experiential learning methodologies and include 40-70% applied components and practical experience related to one or more occupational field(s) of practice. CNA-Q offers 50 high-quality programs led by qualified instructors in technology-rich classrooms, workshops, laboratories, and simulated environments. The College has transformed the education and work landscape of Qatar, distinguishing itself as a destination in the state for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), and a source of top-notch talent.
