Manama: Bahrain Business & Professional Women International Federation (BPW Bahrain) recently held its General Assembly Meeting virtually via ZOOM with a quorum of more than two thirds of the Foundation’s members.  

Leaded by Shaikha Hend Bint Salman AL Khalifa, BPW Bahrain President, the meeting reviewed the financial and literary reports for the Year ended 31 December 2020, and electing new members of the Board of Directors for the 5th term (2020-2022).

Shaikha Hend welcomed all members of BPW Bahrain, stressing the vital role of the Board of directors during the last two years, exerting tireless efforts to serve the Federation goals through carrying out many fruitful activities and successful events. Shaikha Hend also expressed her deep gratitude to all the members for their tremendous contributions for the sake of highlighting BPW’s main functions and supporting more individuals, businesses and companies owned and run by Bahraini women and men to achieve their full potentials.

During the meeting, the Secretary General Mrs. Khairiya Aldashti presented the administrative report, pointing out the leading role of BPW in Al-Andalus Park and its keen endeavor in the field of business incubators and embracing the beneficiary entrepreneurs to empower them to be fully aware of their business needs and ready to enter labor market efficiently.   

Later on, the Financial Secretary Mrs. Amaal Abdulrahman Alhayki presented the financial report done by BDO Bahrain. Moving forward, the meeting attendees praised all the efforts done to achieve great success stories for BPW center and its federation. 

At the meeting, the members of the Board of Directors were elected for the new term for a period of two years, during which, the following names won the membership in the Board of Directors by acclamation:

  • Amaal Abdulrahman Alhayki
  • Jameela Attasi
  • Khairiya Aldashti
  • Zahraa Taher
  • Layla Mohammed Janahi
  • Nadia ALmulla
  • Nabeela Mohamed Alkhayer
  • Najah Alkhuder
  • Shaikha Hend Bint Salman AL Khalifa.

Two more candidates were also elected as standby members as follows:  

  • Shohraa AL Shariff
  • Nahla Almahmood

The General Assembly congratulated the new elected board of directors and wished them all the best with their new assignments and duties.

Afterwards, the new elected Board of Directors convened a meeting to adopt the future plan for the coming term and distribution of posts as follows:

  • Shaikha Hend Bint Salman AL Khalifa - President
  • Nabeela Mohamed Alkhayer – Vice President
  • Khairiya Aldashti – Secretary
  • Amaal Abdulrahman Alhayki – Financial Secretary
  • Zahraa Taher – Head of Media & International relations committee
  • Layla Mohammed Janahi – Head of Business & Financial Resources committee
  • Najah Alkhuder – Head of Activities & Events Committee
  • Nadia ALmulla – Head of Culture and Forums Committee
  • Jameela Attasi – Deputy Secretary
  • Nahla Almahmood – Deputy head of activities & events committee
  • Shohraa AL Shariff – Deputy head of culture & forums committee.

The meeting was concluded by greeting remarks from BPW Bahrain president Shaikha Hend Bint Salman AL Khalifa to all elected members, wishing them all the best and hoping to draw up committees’ strategic plans to be presented for discussion the next board meeting.
