ArabFinance: Minister of Emigration Nabila Makram coordinated with the Governor of Aswan Ashraf Attia to bring back the stranded citizens in Sudan through the city which is located on the southern border of Egypt, according to a June 20th statement.

Makram noted that approximately 800 Egyptians will be repatriated within a few days on buses from the Egyptian-Sudanese border to the homeland.

The minister also urged the citizens wishing to return to the North African country to submit their requests at Egypt’s embassy in Sudan.

In March, Eshkeet border between the two African states was closed, in line with the outbreak of COVID-19.

Until the last coronavirus update, Sudan registered a total of 8,580 infections and 521 fatalities.

Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar Enaba said on June 16th that some 315 flights brought back 57,000 stranded Egyptians from different countries worldwide since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis.
