The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday met Bahrain Defence Force’s Chief of Staff, Lieutenant-General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, and a number of other senior BDF officers at Riffa Palace.
During the meeting HRH Prince Salman presented the officers with ‘The Prince Salman bin Hamad Medal for Medical Merit’ in recognition and appreciation of their relentless support to the kingdom’s Covid-19 mitigation efforts.
HRH Prince Salman affirmed the Supreme Commander His Majesty King Hamad’s appreciation of the BDF’s efforts over the past two years.
He noted that the contribution of the frontline medical professionals and supporting entities from the BDF, the Ministry of Interior and various other agencies has had a positive impact on the kingdom’s mitigation efforts and the protection of public health.
HRH Prince Salman said that the BDF’s provision of frontline support has been a key element of Team Bahrain’s efforts to mitigate Covid-19.
He also highlighted the BDF’s integral role as a key contributor to the kingdom’s sustainable development.
HRH Prince Salman thanked Team Bahrain for their ongoing efforts to combat Covid-19 and safeguard public health.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa and Minister of Finance and National Economy Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa also attended the meeting.
