Authorities in Sharjah have announced the activation of remote work for government employees from Sunday, February 14, due to rising COVID-19 cases.

Individual departments will be able to decide what percentage of employees should work from home and employees that have to be physically present at work will still report to their offices.

Employees must be seated a minimum of two metres apart, and if remote working is not possible, adjustments must be made so that only 50 percent of workers are in the workspace at one time.

Dr Tariq Sultan bin Khadim, member of the Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the Department of Human Resources, urged everyone to follow COVID-19 safety measures, and the department reminded employees to wear masks and maintain social distancing.
