RIYADH: The General Directorate of Health Affairs in Riyadh has met strict international standards requirements for its implementation of a quality management system.

The directorate’s self-resources department achieved International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 certification, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

Dr. Hassan Al-Shahrani, the directorate’s director general for the Riyadh Region, said that success in meeting the ISO criteria reflected the depth of strategic vision in the department toward delivering high-quality health services.

Faisal Al-Dughaither, director of corporate communication at Riyadh Health, said the accreditation requirements came through the development of various evaluation programs, quality management system training, and establishing, reviewing, and activating the system.

The ISO certification is concerned with procedures, documentation, correction, process approach, and risk-based thinking through dedicated teams for improvement, internal audit, and continuous evaluation.
