Kuwait - Head of the Government Communication Center, the official spokesman Tariq Al-Muzaram, announced that the Cabinet Ministers has instructed the Ministry of Interior to coordinate with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health to stop issuing all visa. Only those which are on diplomatic mission will be issued after the approval by the Ministry of Health.
In a press conference held at Seef Palace after the cabinet meeting yesterday, it was decided that all arrival Kuwaiti and expats have to undergo compulsory quarantine as a precaution either at home or in centers, hospitals which is set along with the rules of quarantine and the period determined by the Ministry of Health.
In order to act as a precautionary measures all cinemas and theaters, as well as public and private wedding halls and hotel halls have to be closed for temporary period. Kuwait Municipality in coordination with the Ministry of Health will organize funeral ceremonies in cemeteries in line with preventive measures to avoid infection and the spread of the epidemic.
Kuwait suspends permissions for wedding reception tents
The Kuwait Municipality on Monday suspended permissions for setting up tents for wedding receptions until further notice to help contain the spread of new coronavirus (COVID-19), said the official spokesman Mohammad Al-Mutairi.
In a press statement, the Municipality said it has also deployed 157 billboards in the country’s six governorates to educate people about the virus and how to avoid infection.
Earlier, the Kuwaiti cabinet entrusted the Kuwaiti Municipality and the Ministry of Health to coordinate funerals at cemeteries in line with preventive measures and avoid the causes of coronavirus spread.
The cabinet also ordered shutting down of all cinemas and theaters and suspension of wedding receptions as a precautionary and preventive measure for all citizens and residents in Kuwait.
