Kuwait - The World Health Organization (WHO) has not recommended any ban on food and beverage imports from China due to the coronavirus outbreak until the present time, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) recently reported citing Reem Al Fulaij, a senior official at the Kuwaiti Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN).

No country worldwide has suspended Chinese imports to date, the official remarked, adding that, according to official scientific reports, transmission of respiratory viruses, such as the novel coronavirus, via food is unlikely.

The Kuwaiti food and nutrition authority is coordinating with the International Food Safety Authorities Network (INFOSAN) to find out about recent updates on food safety.
