ArabFinance: Egypt dispatched three military planes carrying 42 tons of humanitarian aid to Sudan's Khartoum to support its flood relief efforts, according to a September 9th statement.

The shipment marks the largest aid Egypt sent since the beginning of the crisis in Sudan, Sudanese news agency SUNA quoted Egyptian Chargé d’Affaires to Sudan Nader Zaki as saying.

Egyptian health minister Hala Zayed traveled to Sudan on September 8th, along with a delegation of 20 doctors in various specialties, nurses, and experts in epidemic control.

Earlier, Egypt opened an air bridge to Sudan in response to the current crisis caused by flash flooding.

The floods left at least 99 people dead as at September 7th, while causing the total or partial collapse of more than 100,000 homes.
