RIYADH: The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) is adding a second industrial city in Makkah, SPA reported.

The development is located in Al-Akishiyah district on an area of more than 45 million square meters.

The project is a response to rising demand for industrial investment in the Makkah region and will help deliver more local content, said spokesperson Qusay Al-Abdulkarim.

The city is located just 25 km from Haramain train station and 70 km from Jeddah Islamic Port.

MODON supervises the industrial complexes and cities developed by the private sector in the Kingdom.
