ArabFinance: Kima Aswan project, affiliated to the listed Egyptian Chemical Industries (Kima) (EGCH), is ready to be fully operational, Egypt’s Minister of the Public Business Sector Hisham Tawfik revealed on October 13th.

The development has total investments of EGP 11.4 billion, Tawfik noted.

The minister, however, did not disclose a timeframe of the official launch of the project that was carried out to exploit the electric power from the Aswan Dam station, which is claimed to generate 280 megawatts of power.

A year ago, the government directed a committee headed by the CEO of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency to measure the emissions and fumes from Kima Aswan.
