The Household Cleaning Products Company (HCPC) Egypt, producers of CLOROX Bleach, announced its cooperation with UNICEF to support the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) to help limit the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Egypt, according to April 4th press release.

According to the agreement, HCPC will be donating Clorox Liquid Bleach (CLB) for disinfecting public spaces, in addition to the main hospitals allocated for fever and quarantine in Egypt.

After the declaration of the World Health Organization of COVID-19 outbreak as pandemic, Sanitizers with chlorine have been recognized as an effective disinfecting liquid to sterilize hard surfaces from COVID-19, reducing chances of transmission.

Clorox has been in Egypt for almost 35 years and is committed to giving back to its communities. HCPC through UNICEF is supporting the (MoHP) with 6000 liters of CLB on a weekly basis to contribute to the government’s needs and in line with the WHO safety and hygiene measures.

Through UNICEF, Clorox is also supporting the Ministry of Social Solidarity (MoSS) contain the spread of COVID-19 by donating Clorox bleach to cover the needs of 687 orphanages and nursing homes for a period of two months. The donation quantities to both the MoHP and MoSS will be delivered by ARAMEX for free in solidarity with the current emergency.
