Spain's seasonally- and calendar-adjusted industrial output rose 0.8% in April from the same month a year earlier, official data from the country's national statistics institute (INE) showed on Thursday.

Analysts polled by Reuters expected a 0.8% increase.

INE revised down the year-on-year figure for the month of March to a 1.3% contraction from an original 1.2% contraction. (Reporting by Tiago Brandao, editing by Inti Landauro)
