Consumer prices in France rose 2.4% year-on-year in April, statistics office INSEE said on Wednesday, confirming preliminary data published in late April.

The EU-harmonised year-on-year reading was the same as in March.

Smaller food and tobacco price rises were recorded in April, with manufactured goods prices inching down compared with the same month last year.

However, energy prices accelerated in April and service prices rose at the same rate as in the previous month, INSEE said. (Reporting by Michal Aleksandrowicz in Gdansk; Editing by Andrew Heavens and Hugh Lawson)
