COPENHAGEN - Denmark's Systemic Risk Council said on Tuesday it still finds it appropriate to increase banks' emergency buffer, the so-called countercyclical capital buffer, to 2.5% from March 2023, as decided by the country's business minister in March this year.
"It is important to build up the buffer to make the institutions more resilient to any risks and losses that may occur," the council said in a statement.
It also said it was ready to recommend to decrease the size of the buffer if stress occurs in the financial system.
