The Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) launched its seasonal campaign “Zakat” aimed at supporting orphans during the Holy Month of Ramadan through a set of implemented projects that will serve 2,763 orphans belonging to 1,150 families in the Emirate of Sharjah and the central and eastern regions.
Every Ramadan, SSEF strives to ensure that affiliated families with limited income are well supplied with their needs for the Holy Month, as the foundation provides all their essential needs based on number of members of those families.
Mona bin Hadda Al-Suwaidi, Director-General of the Foundation, affirmed that the campaign came to reflect a transparent aspect of humanitarian work stemming from a focused goal of great impact and depth in serving and caring for orphans, emphasising that the foundation is proud and appreciative of the spirit of giving and solidarity shown by the people of Sharjah to take part in the campaign’s projects.
Al-Suwaidi stated that SSEF has received many funds and donations over the past years to support the campaign, which reflects community solidarity and human cohesion, affirming that Ramadan in its various projects sets on serving and caring for orphans and supporting and empowering them in various fields , as they are active segment in society.
