KUWAIT CITY: Amid growing dissatisfaction following the general budget presentation by the Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Dr. Anwar Al-Mudhaf, economists have proposed a series of measures to address the financial imbalances.

They stressed the need for a clear vision and an action plan with a specific timetable for implementation. Economists, speaking to Al-Rai daily, expressed their disappointment with the presented figures, citing a lack of vision and alternatives. They emphasized key foundations to address the deficiencies, including creating an enabling environment for youth employment in the private sector and eliminating wasteful spending.

Al-Yahya drew attention to the formidable challenges facing the international community, including food insecurity, shortage of energy, climate change, poverty and conflicts which pose threats to international peace and security. He underscored the roles of major countries in creating fairer and more balanced partnerships with developing countries through technology transfer and development assistance in keeping with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2030 Agenda.
