Japan's government has decided to expand the target of its Official Security Assistance (OSA) defence aid programme to Vietnam and Djibouti, public broadcaster NHK reported on Monday.
Earlier this month, Japan agreed to provide coastal surveillance radars to the Philippines in its first OSA cooperation project, as Tokyo looks to counter China's growing military assertiveness in Asia. (Reporting by Kantaro Komiya; Editing by Kim Coghill)
