MANAMA: Housing investments in Bahrain have soared to BD14.309 million since last January, benefiting more than 284 citizens.

The Housing Ministry approved loans worth BD7.547m for construction, BD6.615m loans to buy homes and 15 loans worth BD147,000, for renovation purposes.

“These options are provided for citizens to secure decent housing and bypass the waiting time,” Housing Minister Bassem Al Hamer said yesterday.

The ministry put a cap of BD20,000 for people looking for funding to revamp their houses or make minimum modifications.

Those wishing to benefit from these services or inquire about them can apply online on the ministry’s website or the e-government portal.
