Saudi Arabia's Energy Ministry has asked local firms and other consumers to send feedback on its plan to upgrade its domestic gas and LPG supply network as part of an expansion strategy within the Gulf Kingdom's Vision 2030.

Newspapers reported on Thursday that the Ministry has issued a statement asking "all local individual, household and corporate consumers" to send suggestions for the project which involves the distribution of dry gas and liquid petroleum gas (LPG) for residential and commercial purposes.

"The Ministry urges all those concerned to present their proposals on the project before June 13," the statement said, adding that the Ministry aims to create "a more competitive environment to ensure fair prices to all consumers."

In January, the Saudi cabinet decided to transfer the project to the Energy Ministry from the Electricity & Cogeneration Regulatory Authority.
