Canada's SNC Lavalin Major Projects is the lowest bidder for Bahrain's Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications request for proposals (RFP) tender to procure consultancy services for utilities diversion of Bahrain Metro project corridor.
SNC-Lavalin Major Projects submitted a bid of 595,650 Bahraini dinars ($1.6 million) for the consultancy contract, according to notice posted by Bahrain's Tender Board on Monday.
In August, Zawya Projects had reported that Bahrain's Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications had received three bids for its RFP tender to procure consultancy services for utilities diversions of metro corridor.
The second lowest bid was submitted by Ireland's ESBI Engineering and Facility Management at 1,574,475 dinars ($4.2 million) with a second option of 2,083,725 dinars ($5.5 million) while the UK's Mott MacDonald came third with a bid of 1,648,500 dinars ($4.4 million).
The consultancy forms part of enabling work design for phase 1 and phase 1a where the scope of work required includes planning and designing the utilities diversion conflicting the corridor and also propose new corridors for the diverted utilities by co-ordination and approval of the relevant authorities.
In August, Zawya Projects had reported that Bahrain is expected to award the consultancy contract for enabling works design for Phase 1 and Phase 1A of the Bahrain Metro public-private partnership project by the fourth quarter of 2021.
