Saudi Arabia has approved 218 projects involving the construction of nearly 180,000 houses in various areas of the Gulf Kingdom, according to an official report.
The Housing Ministry is also working on 64 projects that will produce at least 100,000 houses, apartments, and villas in 2021, the Ministry’s Sakani (my home) section said.
The units are situated in Riyadh and other parts of Saudi Arabia and will soon be distributed to citizens within a strategy to boost their house ownership to at least 70 percent by 2030 to tackle a housing crisis.
“The government has now endorsed 218 new residential projects after allocating land plots for them in various areas of the Kingdom…these projects include the building of more than 180,000 units in cities and other regions,” Sakani said in a new report.
The report showed the Ministry’s housing programme has benefited more than 1.1 million Saudi families since it was launched in 2017.
