The National Cleaning Company (NCC) in Kuwait has won a contract worth around 4.98 million Kuwaiti dinars ($16.5 million) for the disposal of solid toxic waste.

The state-owned Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has awarded the 3-year contract, which involves waste disposal at KNPC's oil refineries in the Gulf country, NCC said in a statement on Kuwait's bourse on Wednesday.

The contract was awarded after competition from other firms and it will be formally signed soon, the statement added.
