Al Moammar Information Systems (MIS) said on Thursday that it has been awarded the maritime emergency response and surveillance support centre project valued at 188.08 million Saudi riyals ($50.14 million) along with Saudi Investment Recycling Company (SIRC).
The work scope includes building an integrated system of advanced technical solutions to monitor immediate and early warning of oil leaks in the Arabian Gulf and Red Sea regions, MIS said in a statement published on the Saudi stock exchange.
The name of the entity awarding the contract was not given.
The solutions include using the best global technologies in artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and data analysis with digital twin technology.
In addition, there will be satellite solutions through the complete setup of drones and a comprehensive monitoring system via several fixed and mobile control centres to ensure the speed of the concerned response team in dealing with oil leaks.
Edarat Communication and Information Technology Company is a related party to the contract, the statement said.
