Advanced Petrochemical Company (Advanced) has awarded Gas Arabian Services Company a 50.98-million Saudi riyal ($13.58 million) engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a gas pipeline, the company said in a statement to the Saudi stock exchange.
The pipeline will transfer associated petroleum gas containing high-value chemicals from Advanced to Jubail United Petrochemical Company (United), a Saudi Basic Industries Corporation affiliate.
It will connect Advanced’s Propane Dehydrogenation (PDH) unit to Jubail United’s cracking unit for upgrading the by-product gas stream to high-value chemicals.
The project will add value to both companies by reducing the carbon footprint by adopting the circular economy concept and upgrading high-value chemical by-products.
