Kuwait National Cinema Company (KNCC) is planning to develop a shopping mall in Al Asimah, Kuwait, a source close to the project said.
"The main construction contract is expected to be awarded by end of January 2020," the source said, adding that the tender was issued on 3 September 2019 and bids were submitted on 12 November.
Bids were submitted by Alghanim International General Trading & Contracting, First United General Trading & Contracting Company and Ahmadiah Contracting & Trading Co., officials from these companies confirmed with Thomson Reuters Projects.
A second source told Thomson Reuters Projects that the two- storey shopping mall is expected to cost $80 million.
He said CallisonRTKL has been mandated as design and lead consultant while KEO International is the design and project management consultant.
The project is scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2023, the second source added.
