Bahrain-based Marson Group and Gauss Auto, which is based in the US and China, have signed a partnership agreement to build Bahrain’s first electric car factory.

Gauss Auto Bahrain, the new plant located in Salman Industrial City in the American Trade Zone, will become operational in 10 months, Marson Group said in a statement.

Construction and management of the new facility will be managed by Marson Group, while Gauss Auto will provide technical know-how.

The factory will produce a range of electric vehicles (EVs), including two-wheelers, three-wheel electric tricycles, and passenger vehicles.

The statement added that the EVs will be sold in Bahrain, the US and other countries.

In November 2022, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammad bin Salman announced the launch of Ceer, the first Saudi electric vehicle brand, that will contribute to the Kingdom’s automotive manufacturing sector.
