Tawazun Council, an independent government entity that works closely with the Ministry of Defense, security agencies and Abu Dhabi Police, announced signing 12 deals worth 8.14 billion UAE dirhams ($2.22 billion) with local and global companies on the second day of the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) and the Naval Defence Exhibition (NAVDEX) 2023.
The cumulative value of deals stands at AED 12.64 billion.
Tawazun Council’s official spokesman Zayed Saeed Al Meraikhi said that the number of contracts signed with local companies has reached eight, with a total value of 7.6 billion UAE dirhams, while the number of contracts signed with international companies has reached four, with a total value of 543 million.
Local contracts
AED 4.7 billion contract awarded to Halcon, a subsidiary of Edge Group, to procure Desert Sting P5 system
AED 1.1 billion deal with Halcon to procure Hunter systems
AED 1.33 billion contract signed with ADASI, a subsidiary of Edge Group, to procure Shadow system
Other announced deals with local companies included two contracts with Trust International Group
AED 179 million deal with Trust International Group to procure Minimi machine gun
AED 20 million contract with Trust International Group to procure 7.62 mm machine guns
AED 175 million contract signed with ADSB, a subsidiary of Edge Group, to procure rescue boats
AED 40 million deal with International Golden Group to procure telecom systems
AED 20 million contract with Marakeb to develop Golden Unit of multi-mission unmanned boat
International contracts
AED 316 million contract with France’s Thales Six to develop and support ground station radio and AED 159 million pact to procure CMS systems
AED 57 million contract with German’s Rheinmetall to provide technical support for engagement simulation
AED 11 million contract with US company Harris International to procure telecom systems and intercom units
