Abu Dhabi Waste Management Company (Tadweer) and Austria-based oil, gas and chemicals company OMV signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore opportunities in sustainable feedstocks for fuel and chemical production.

The companies will work together to evaluate the potential for new projects and initiatives that support the development of sustainable feedstocks, including using waste as a feedstock for producing sustainable fuels and chemicals.

"Tadweer is committed to finding new and innovative ways to turn waste into valuable resources," Ali Al Dhaheri, CEO of Tadweer, said in a statement.

The collaboration will help to promote the development of a circular economy in the UAE, as both companies will work to advance sustainability and waste reduction.

OMV subsidiary Borealis is a joint venture partner with ADNOC in the Borouge petrochemical complex in Abu Dhabi.
