Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is expected to award the main construction contract for Dibba Archaeological Visitor Centre in Musandam Governorate in the second quarter 2023.

The international tender for the main construction contract was issued on 6 December 2022.

“Main contract award is likely by early second quarter of 2023,” the source said without getting into specific details.

According to Oman Tender Board, pre-bid clarification will end on 10 January 2023 with bid submission closing on 17 January 2023.

Construction companies that have purchased the bid documents include Al Gharbia Enterprises, Abu Hatim Co, Al Hajiry Trading, and Silver Stone Trading, officials from three companies confirmed.

Tender board said the integrated visitor centre will be located in Dibba Al Baya, where a number of archaeological tombs dating back to the Bronze and Iron Ages have been discovered and will enable citizens and visitors to visit the site.

The project is slated for completion in first quarter 2025, the source said, adding that his estimate of the project cost is $30 million.
