India-based electro-mechanical engineering company Voltas announced that it has been awarded Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) works contract for Qiddiya Water Theme Park in Saudi Arabia.

The 428 million Saudi riyal ($114 million) supply and installation contract was bagged by the company’s International Operations Business Group (IOBG).

In February 2022, Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) had awarded a SAR2.8 billion ($750 million) construction contract for the water theme park to a joint venture of ALEC Saudi Arabia Engineering & Contracting, and El Seif Engineering Contracting.

Dewan Architects + Engineers was awarded the lead design consultancy contract for the water park in May 2022.

In December 2021, QIC had awarded a construction contract worth SAR3.7 billion ($1 billion) for Six Flags Qiddiya theme park to Saudi Arabia’s Almabani General Contractors, and France’s Bouygues Bâtiment International.

Qiddiya, located south-west of Saudi capital Riyadh, is a Public Investment Fund (PIF)-led project that aims to become the future capital of entertainment, sports and culture. The Water Theme Park project forms a part of Qiddiya’s Parks and Attractions segment.
