Musanada (Abu Dhabi General Services Company) is expected to award infrastructure development contract for Public Realm for Federal Precinct and Commercial District at Zayed City in Abu Dhabi in the fourth quarter of 2019, a source aware of the project said.

"The commercial bid submission for infrastructure work is expected to be on 18 July 2018. It was extended twice from May 30 to 23 July and 8 July 2019," the source told Thomson Reuters Projects.

He didn't give the reason for the extensions but said the contract award is expected to be in October 2019.

Al Jaber Transport & General Contracting, Tristar Engineering & Construction, Nurol Holding, Al Naboodah Construction Group, ADMAK General Contracting Company, Hilalco, Ghantoot Transport & General Contracting and Saif Bin Darwish are among the firms pre-qualified to bid the project, officials from these companies confirmed with Thomson Reuters Projects.

"Work on the project is expected to commence by end of fourth quarter of 2019 and complete by December 2021," he added.

The $80 million project includes infrastructure work, installation of telecom and electricity ducts, installation of street lighting, construction of stormwater drainage and pathways, a second source told Thomson Reuters Projects.

He said Dar Al-Handasah is the design and infrastructure consultant while Bilfinger Tebodin is the project management consultant.

Musanada is a public joint stock company which provides design and construction and facility management services to government entities in Abu Dhabi.
