Abu Dhabi: From March 22 to April 22, 2019,the most beloved of all storybook characters will come to life at the Water’s Greatest Playground with a mermaid-themed program of events across the waterpark. Mermaid Adventures, a 31-day program, will offer a family-focused calendar of themed activities and performances scheduled across the month.
Mermaid Adventures will kick-off on March 22 with the Amwaj Pool Aqua Tramps, which invites guests to limber up for some water-based aerobic exercises before heading off for a swim around the Amwaj Wave Pool. Lasting the duration of the program, the giant trampolines will be enjoyed alongside Mermazing Beach Games, a selection of interactive beach games designed to bring out the competitive spirit of the entire family, all hosted by the Yas Waterworld Splash Squad. Also available to guests for the duration ofMermaid Adventures will be the Mermaid Adventures Beach BBQ, serving a mouthwatering menu of BBQ favorites to satisfy hungry stomachs.
Available exclusively on Fridays and Saturdays from 29 March to 20 April will be theMermaid School, where children can join small groups of other aspiring young mermaids in an enchanting aquatic adventure to discover the mythical way of swimming just like a mermaid. Meanwhile, the enchanted sea fairies at the Mermaid Boutique Experience will transform the little ones into mermaids with the tail and all accessories, grant them VIP seats for The Mermaid Adventures LIVE – The Legend of the Lost Pearl, and offer them the chance to meet the mermaids after the show for a VIP photo experience. The mermaid show is a one-of-a-kind live theatre experience with real-life mermaid encounters, and even involves Yas Waterworld’s favorite characters, Chubby and Skinny, who will guide the quest to find the Lost Pearl.
Alongside all of the above, two unique events will be hosted on one day only. On April 19, Yas Waterworld will host the biggest egg hunt on Yas Island, The Lost Pearl Hunt, a twist on the conventional Easter egg-hunt as children get to hunt for eggs and the Lost Pearl in return for special prizes. At 7pm on the same day, guests can experience the region’s only open-air waterpark cinema for one last time this season, as Yas Waterworld hosts a screening of The Aquaman. Attendees can kick back and enjoy the movie poolside, or catch the film while floating around the pool under a starry night sky.
