Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: - Plug and Play, the largest open innovation platform in the world and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), have officially joined hands with AD Ports Group, the region’s premier facilitator of logistics, industry, and trade, as part of the Industry 4.0 open innovation platform focused on accelerating and enhancing competitiveness in areas such as Supply Chain and Logistics through innovation, in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The core objective of this newly formed partnership is to pave the way for Abu Dhabi to secure a leading global position in the different domains such as Industry 4.0 open innovation, Next Fifty Years futuristic ideas "N50", and further breakthrough initiatives. In parallel, this first-of-its-kind platform will boost Abu Dhabi’s industrial innovation capabilities and attract high-calibre tech startups to the emirate by creating a unified marketplace and forum to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange across major industrial entities and exceptional technology startups, bringing real value and solutions to Abu Dhabi.
Already in motion, Plug and Play Abu Dhabi and AD Ports Group's innovation team have conducted a bootcamp for the Group's employees, titled N50, which demonstrates how the Group's culture of discovery is crucial to creating a new generation of Emirati nationals with a mindset of innovation and pursuit of excellence. The prime focus was to highlightthe Group's contribution towards the UAE’s 50th anniversary by providing breakthrough ideas, suggesting solutions to current and future problems, and generating socio-economic impact for the UAE and ROI for AD Ports Group.
Eiman Al Khalaqi, Vice President of Innovation, AD Ports Group, said: “Since its inception, AD Ports Group has spearheaded regional efforts to instil and realise innovation across the entire trade and logistics ecosystem. The official welcoming of the remaining founding partners of this platform is scheduled to take place in mid-October 2021.
