Denver, Dubai – Western Union, a leading cross-border and currency transfer company, today announced a 50% discount on transfer fees for front-line first responders and key workers who send money through any of the company's digital channels over the next two weeks.
According to Western Union statistics, more than 65 percent of "citizensof the world" who work and live around the globe have a "first responder" or work in basic services. The proportion of these occupations is distributed in the major countries as follows: 63 per cent in the United States, 67 per cent in the United Kingdom, 68 per cent in France, 70 per cent in Germany, 62 per cent in Australia, 58 per cent in the United Arab Emirates and 71 per cent in Saudi Arabia.

This discount can be used using the code Thanks2020,whichapplies to all transfers in most countries where Western Union digital services are located, through the website www.westernunion.com Or the company's app, which is received through western union's global network through bank accounts, digital wallets or retail points for agents in 200 countries and territories. This fee discount will run from now until May 20, 2020 and is available to first responders representing the medical, police and firefighters professions as well as key workers in the fields of food, transportation, utilities and key industries, including manufacturing and construction.
According to the World Bank, the UAE was among the top five countries sending remittances in 2018, while India, Egypt, Pakistan, the Philippines and Bangladesh were the largest recipients of remittances from the UAE.
